Zeehan, in Tasmania, is one of those beautiful little towns you might drive through and barely notice but if you stop and take some time to explore and you might find that you’ve landed in a gem. You can feel the love in this town in every café and building that has been painstakingly restored to represent a bygone era. The wide streets are so inviting and the people so warm. Locals have been telling visitors that there was one place everyone needs to visit when in Zeehan, that is the West Coast Heritage Centre and boy, will you be glad you dropped in. Don’t be fooled but the rather small shop front entry, this museum is massive and filled with such interesting relics as well as buildings – yes buildings in the back yard – that are fitted out with historic workshops and such that give you a sense of what life in Zeehan must have been like many moons ago.
